Linux is a family of free and open-source software operating systems based on the Linux kernel. It is the best-known and most-used open source operating system. Linux can be installed and used it as a desktop, firewall, a file server, web server. Linux allows a user to control every aspect of the operating systems. The system is preferable in security, reliability, hardware support, total cost of ownership.
During the presentation he will provide a brief overview of:
  • Linux history, main benefits, distributions
  • User interfaces
  • Linux commands
  • Linux shells
  • Files, processes
  • Linux streams, redirections, pipes
  • Bash scripting basics
Armen Ananikyan is a QA Technical Lead in the Design to Silicon division of Mentor Graphics, A Siemens Business. He started his career in the EDA area in 2001 as a SQA group manager in “Monterey Design Systems”.  In 2003, “Monterey Design Systems” was acquired by “Synopsys” and he became SQA department manager at “Synopsys Armenia SEG”. In 2007, Armen joined “Ponte solutions”. In 2008 Ponte Solutions was acquired by Mentor Graphics, which in April 2017 became a part of Siemens.
