President of Armenia Visited RAU
On June 5, President of Armenia Armen Sargsyan and Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan visited Russian-Armenian University.
The President got acquainted with the university's facilities, the sports complex, laboratories, as well as the new campus currently undergoing construction. After the tour, he met with the university executives, heads of RAU institutes and the administrative staff.
RAU Rector Professor Armen Darbinyan presented the university's academic programs, development prospects and international cooperation. He highlighted that Russian-Armenian University identifies research as one of the major priorities and actively cooperates with a number of research institutions.
Highlighting the importance of advancing research, the President expressed willingness to support new projects and programs initiated by RAU.
“Russian-Armenian University is a wonderful example that it is possible to build a modern, 21st-century university in Armenia, it illustrates that partnership between Armenia and Russia is not only words, but rather work, work and once again work”, he said.
At RAU, the President also attended Teach For Armenia’s annual Ambassador Induction Ceremony, during which 28 program fellows were inducted as “Ambassadors for Educational Equity.”
