RAU at ERASMUS+ PROMIG Consortium Meeting
On October 25-26 2017, within the scope of Erasmus + project “Promoting Migration Studies in Higher Education”, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University hosted a consortium meeting. It brought partners from Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Austria, Spain, to the discuss key project management and content wise implementation issues.
The delegation of Russian-Armenian University included Ms. Larisa Avetisyan, Ph.D., senior lecturer at the Research and Education Center of Global Development and Megaeconomics at RAU Institute of Economics and Business, local project coordinator, head of the research group on migration processes in Armenia; Dr. Mariam Voskanyan, Head of RAU Department of Economics and Finance, responsible for project content management; Ms. Irina Petrosyan, Ph.D., Head of RAU Department of Economic Theory and Challenges of Transition Economies, member of RAU research group on migration processes in Armenia.
During the meeting, the partner universities worked on the outlined of a Master's program on Migration for the Tabesh University, Afghanistan, and discussed the issues of launching a center of migration in Afghanistan and widening the regional online platform.
In addition, the representatives of the University of Alicante presented the results of their survey on the identification of current issues on migration in partner countries, the partner universities also outlined programs for future trainings and discussed the project's further implementation. At the end of the meeting, the project coordinator, TSU, the host consortium, provided the partners with a number of recommendations on technical, financial and organizational support of the project.
Russian-Armenian University participates in the PROMIG project as a partner since October 2016. The project is designed for 3 years (36 months).
