Taking into consideration the demand for the psychological specialization and the demand of the qualified staff in the society a preparation of staff by the specialization of “Psychology” initiated by the rector of RAU A.R. Darbinyan at the basis of RAU is carried out.

The aim of the study is the preparation of highly qualified specialists in the sphere of psychology.  The mission of the preparation of a specialist is in connecting the professional education with the development of humanitarian culture, formulating spiritually rich, intellectually equipped, socially liable personality.

Psychology is one of the most interesting and important spheres of human knowledge.  The ability to think is psychologically necessary to the man as in everyday life, as well as in professional activity.  The diapason of the abilities of every person in the sphere of interpersonal and professional communication is frequently expanding, if his activity and behavior are based on the knowledge of scientific psychology. 

RAU as an intergovernmental institution has an evident advantage and perspectives, connected with the specific demands of the standard in the relation of preparation of psychologists in the region: system of education mainly is constructed at the basis of Russian speaking sources of educational and scientific information.  The necessary connections have been restored; an exchange of specialists and centralized system of fieldtrips and increasing the qualification is now possible.

And necessary informational-technological system is created in RAU, which allows to unfold the electronic library with the full format access to the network resources of open and departmental Internet, organize terminals of distant education to improve the work of computerized experimental laboratories and classes of psycho-training.

The education at the faculty is carried out according to the governmental educational standards of basic academic education, oriented not only at the preparation of high standard specialists but also at the development of personal opportunities.  The union of the efforts of leading psychological organizations and scientific centers is allowing to combine in the educational process the profound theoretical preparation opportunity to receive practical knowledge and skills in the sphere of individual, family consulting, in the sphere of psychology of administration, social process and phenomena.

By the specialization of “Psychology” at the basis of RAU since 2005 a preparation of the staff is realized by the 2 -stepped system of education.  Exams by the specialization of “Psychology”: biology or mathematics (by the choice of the students); Russian language (dictation); foreign language (test).  The education is realized by the educational programs: Bachelor’s (4 years), Master’s (2 years).

Practical and scientific-research activity of specialists is directed at the increasing psychological resources and adapting opportunities of a person, at the harmonization of psychological-development security of health, preventions and overcoming of depressions, psychological rehab.
